Sutter Medical Group (SMG) seeks to hire a BE/BC Orthopedic Surgeon to join our dynamic team in Sacramento, CA.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of Sutter Health’s flagship Orthopedics and Sports Medicine destination center, a 120,000-square-foot, four-story facility in the heart of Sacramento. Designed as a one-stop destination for musculoskeletal care, the center will serve athletes across the spectrum — while delivering concierge-level care to the broader community. Our comprehensive program will serve student athletes of all ages, middle school, high school, collegiate and professional athletes.
This role combines operative sports medicine practice, academic involvement, research opportunities, and community engagement within a highly collaborative and collegial team environment.
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Orthopedic Sports Medicine fellowship.
Subspecialty certification in Orthopedic Sports Medicine (CAQ) or eligibility required.
Lead Role: Minimum 5 years of post-fellowship clinical experience and prior exposure to professional or elite-level team coverage (fellowship or practice).
Support Role: Fellowship training and demonstrated experience in team coverage; 5 years preferred but not required.
Experience or interest in research, teaching, and program development strongly preferred.
Proficiency in ultrasound-guided diagnostic and interventional procedures preferred.
Event medicine readiness (BLS/ACLS; ATLS/PHTLS or equivalent) preferred.
