Opportunity details: This will be a .2 FTE up to .25 FTE, reporting to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ambulatory Quality Oversight
o Lead and manage the SWBMG-SPMF Ambulatory Quality Committee
o Partner with medical group and Foundation leaders to achieve best practice performance on the Sutter Health Ambulatory Quality Dashboard.
o Develop and implement plans to address performance gaps in quality metrics
o Act as the external representative for Sutter West Bay Medical Group (SWBMG) in Sutter Health (SH) system-wide quality initiatives
2. Development of Quality Improvement (QI) Project Framework
o Establish a structured process to support QI projects, including workflow development, scope definition, and data access
o Assist in collecting and analyzing data for short-term clinical projects
o Provide expertise and guidance without direct budgetary responsibilities
o Help package and present findings for operational or system-wide review
3. Medical Group-Focused Quality Targets & Standards
o Collaborate with physician leadership to define quality targets for SWBMG
o Work towards standardized quality measures across specialties (e.g., cardiology, thoracic surgery)
o Investigate existing specialty-specific quality guidelines to integrate into SWBMG standards
o Ensure alignment with national benchmarks and explore internal tracking of clinical outcomes
4. System & Interdepartmental Collaboration
o Interface with other Medical Directors of Quality to align system-wide quality strategies
o Represent SWBMG at Sutter Health Ambulatory Quality Committee meetings and coordinate subcommittees
o Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., Quality Champions, system-wide leadership)
Travel Expectations:
o Minimal, mostly within the Bay Area (~1–2 times per year to Sacramento)
o Primarily local or virtual meetings
o Board Certified in any specialty
